New Stamps Faculty
In September 2017, two new faculty members will be joining the Stamps School as assistant professors of art and design.
Kelly Murdoch-Kitt is drawn to design through her keen interest in people, systems, and interpersonal interactions. She strives to create effective, socially responsible, and delightful concepts and solutions through her engagement in multi-phase investigation, aesthetic sensibility, and linguistic facility.
Omar Sosa Tzec is an information and interface designer fascinated by the creation of visually-oriented interactive-informational artifacts, how they create meaning, and how they impact people’s everyday life. His research lies at the intersection of information design, human-computer interaction, rhetoric, semiotics, and multimodal argumentation.
In addition to teaching 300-level coursework in areas such as Information Design, the technology and design expertise of the new faculty members will play an important role in the first year experience of every Stamps student. The faculty members will be teaching Studio 2D and Studio 3D this fall — both courses are part of the first year “Foundations” program curriculum.
