Alisa Yang Screens Film at Let’s All Be Free Festival, London
Alisa Yang (MFA 2016) screens her thesis film Please Come Again at the Let’s All Be Free Festival in London on Thursday, October 13 at 7 pm.
Let’s All Be Free is a cross-platform initiative that encourages individuals all over the world to seek out free lives through the exploration and celebration of the many expressions that can lead to that freedom; the 2016 festival unfolds October 12 — 16 in London. Alisa’s screening is part of the “Freedom in Film” event. Alisa will also participate in a post-screening panel discussion entitled, “My body, my right, is sex work a human right?”
Alisa’s film, Please Come Again, is part of a multimedia exhibition exploring the sensory environment and culture of love hotels in Japan. The complete project includes photography, installations, and a three-channel projection navigating the themed rooms in love hotels as a metaphor for the female body in contemplating one’s memory, sexuality, and cultural identity.
