Bridge Magazine Features Voting is Sexy Course
In an article published on Monday, October 29, Bridge Magazine posed the question: “Could this be the year Michigan college students actually vote?” The article mentions a number of initiatives undertaken by the University of Michigan, including Voting is Sexy, a Fall 2018 class co-taught by Stamps professors Stephanie Rowden and Hannah Smotrich. The class brought together students from the Stamps School of Art & Design and the School of Music, Theatre & Dance to organize a high-energy, nonpartisan, peer-to-peer creative campaign to “make voting irresistible.” The Bridge Magazine article also links to a video produced by the Voting is Sexy course to promote the use of turbovote.org entitled, Registration Romance.
Post-midterm election, Next Gen America reports substantial increases in Ann Arbor campus voter turn out from 2014. Learn more about how the Voting is Sexy course contributed to that increase.
