Carol Gagliardi Creates Stone Quilt Mosaic for the 2019 Ann Arbor Garden Walk

Stamps alumna Carol Gagliardi, (BFA ​’82) received the honor of having her garden chosen for the 2019 Ann Arbor Garden Walk. Gagliardi uses the contents of the garden, titled The Art-ful Garden, as her palette. In addition to using plants for color and texture, she has incorporated mixed media sculptures throughout. For the 2019 Ann Arbor Garden Walk, she repurposed an old, cracked, thirty by fifteen foot cement barn foundation on her historic property to design and create a mosaic walkway using slate and thousands of river stones.
