Craig Varjabedian: White Sands Landscape Photography Workshop
From March 20 — 23, award-winning fine art photographer Craig Varjabedian (BFA 1979) is offering an educational photographic workshop in New Mexico.
In this dynamic workshop, explore the vivid terrain of White Sands National Monument in southern New Mexico with award winning photographer Craig Varjabedian. Experience the legendary allure of White Sands, from the rhythm of rolling dunes to the stark beauty of this extraordinary landscape. The harsh dichotomy of earth and sky makes the beauty of New Mexico a unique treasure, discovering it’s secret hideaways and forgotten vistas. Mr. Varjabeddian has returned to these beautiful dunes again and again for many years and it will be the subject of his upcoming book to be published by the University of New Mexico Press in 2018.
The unique challenge of the workshop will be in capturing the intense beauty of White Sands, where bold contrasts of light create a graphic setting. The intrepid photographer will be rewarded with indelible photographs of dreamy scenes and abstractions of the wave-like landscape. Participants will photograph the desert environment in an atmosphere of adventure, exploration, and discovery.
Fine art photographer Craig Varjabedian will lead the workshop, sharing over thirty years of experience with the medium and providing hands-on guidance to each student. The workshop is based in Alamogordo, New Mexico, where you will spend four days creatively exploring White Sands National Monument.
