Daniel Henne: U-M Student Life Director of Auxiliary Marketing
Stamps alumnus Daniel Henne (BFA 1983) has returned to his alma mater to lead the marketing group within Student Life in Ann Arbor. Daniel accepted the role of Director of Auxiliary Marketing, which promotes activities for University Unions, Student Housing, Dining, Convention and Event Services, and Recreational Sports.
In this position, he’ll contribute his marketing strategy, branding and creative management skills to strategically position the offerings of Student Life Auxiliaries. He and his team are temporarily located at 4202 Eaton House on North Campus.
His passion for branding and design stemmed from his studies at the University of Michigan School of Art and Design, where he earned his bachelor of fine arts. Over the years, he gave back to the university as a volunteer mentor for the U‑M student organization OptiMize, where students dedicated to social change develop innovative enterprises. Dan’s ability to bring his own marketing and branding skills to student projects is something that strikes a real chord with Student Life, and is much appreciated.
Prior, Daniel served as Creative Director at several mid-size advertising and public relations agencies in the Midwest, most recently Interrupt Marketing in Sylvania, Ohio. His focus there was creating brand strategies and providing creative direction for business-to-business and consumer brands in building materials and household goods. He also led the strategic and creative direction for Indiana-based Miller Brooks, a marketing and design agency specializing in building materials and furnishings, high tech, consumer electronics and health care.
