Detroit Artist Talk by Michele Oka Doner
Stamps alumna Michele Oka Doner (BSDes 1966) will give an artist talk at Wasserman Projects on Thursday, May 3rd at 5 pm, providing first hand insight to the influences and development of her practice as well as how her time in Detroit shaped her work. Wasserman Projects will also unveil a special publication produced in conjunction with the exhibition entitled “Fluent in the Language of Dreams.” Books will be on sale for the artist to sign.
Fluent in the Language of Dreams, an exhibition of Oka Doner’s work, will be on view at Wasserman Projects in Detroit from February 16 — May 5, 2018. Oka Doner first presented this collection almost 40 years ago at the Detroit Institute of Arts. This revamped version of her first solo museum show from 1978 will be accompanied by some of Oka Doner’s sculptures, paper works, books, and design objects.
