Elizabeth Youngblood Exhibits at BBAC
Alumna and former Stamps lecturer Elizabeth Youngblood (BFA ‘73) will exhibit a selection of her work at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. Her exhibition, New Knowns, will be on display from May 3‑June 6 and is free and open to the public during normal gallery hours.
Following her graduation from Stamps, Youngblood went on to study Design at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, where she graduated with her MFA in 1975. Her art practice incorporates the media of drawing, ceramics, weaving, bookbinding, and more. Youngblood has served as a faculty member at Stamps and SUNY Purchase in New York, managed branding with Unisys, and even worked as a designer for the New York Times. She has since returned to her native Detroit, where she maintains a studio practice and leads workshops and special studios in experimental ceramic techniques, all while continuing to investigate the intersection of her range of interests.
