Elshafei Dafalla Creates “Blood Underwater” exhibition at U-M
Stamps alum Elshafei Dafalla (MFA 08) will be returning to campus this week as an artist in residence at the Residential College Art Gallery between October 28 and November 1. He will be working with RC students to create new work for the exhibition “Blood Underwater.” He will be holding open studio hours on Oct. 28, 5 – 7pm, and Oct. 30, 11:30am‑1:30pm, which all are welcome to attend. Additionally, Dafalla will give a lecture open to the public in East Quad Room B845 on Oct. 29 at noon, and the exhibition’s opening reception will be Nov. 1, 6 – 8pm. The exhibition will run through Nov. 22 in the Residential College Art Gallery.
Originally from Sudan, Dafalla earned degrees in Sculpture and Folklore in Khartoum before joining the Stamps community in 2005.
