Emilia Yang imagines a #WorldWithoutFear in upcoming webinar
Assistant Professor Emilia Yang will join a diverse group of artists for a webinar titled “Imagining a World #WithoutFear: The role of the arts in confronting and transforming gender-based violence.”
The free event will take place on December 6 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. EST.
In the webinar, Yang and artists explore a world for women without fear as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence through CARE’s Arts for Gender Equality initiative, supported by The Rockefeller Foundation.
Yang recently received the Arts Gender Equality Fellowship organized by CARE USA and the Rockefeller Foundation, which aims to harness the power of the arts to spark dialogues, commitments, and social change toward gender justice.
Yang, an interdisciplinary artist from Nicaragua, joins Gloriann Sacha Antonetty, a writer from Puerto Rico, and Lujain Jo, an Iraqi filmmaker and performance artist, for the event.
The three visionary artists will discuss the challenges they see, the change they’ve inspired, and their hopes as they work towards a future #WithoutFear.
