Emily Schiffer: Brooklyn Visionaries Pop up Exhibition at Boaz Vaadia Museum

Photographer Emily Schiffer (MFA ​‘16) and writer/​designer Anne Fink Bartoc (Umich ​‘81) recently had a pop up exhibition to generate interest in their exhibition and book project ​“Brooklyn Visionaries” at the Boaz Vaadia Museum during Williamsburg Open Studios.

Brooklyn Visionaries celebrates the individuals who have supported and enriched Brooklyn’s cultural foundation from the 1950s through today. From the founders of block associations to the founders of museums, local pastors acting as social workers to creators of community gardens and parks, this project honors individual contributions and examines how the past is alive in the present.
