International Experience Enhances Student Learning and Equity

Research on the impact of the International Experience Requirement (IER) at the Stamps School has just been published. Sandra Wiley, Director of International Study Programs, and Elona Van Gent, Professor of Art & Design, are second and third authors on this publication.

Results suggest that the IER allowed the School to develop an infrastructure that prompted a greater diversity of students to study abroad, encouraged students to choose more culturally dissimilar destinations, and produced a measurable impact on students’ reflection and global perspective taking.(1)
