Joe Trumpey’s Green Building Class Completes Pellston Structure
Students in Stamps Professor Joe Trumpey’s Green Building class recently completed the construction of a new, 400-square-foot sustainable building at the University of Michigan Biological Station in Pellston, MI.
A group of students at the University of Michigan Biological Station in Pellston have been building a unique structure, all by hand.
Using locally sourced sustainable materials such as straw and adobe, the class of 22 students (which consists of mostly women), has spent all semester designing the building. Since May 1, they’ve been at the station working six days a week to construct the project.
