Katie Shulman featured in Detroit Jewish News profile
Stamps Major Gifts Officer, alum and fiber artist Katie Shulman (BFA ’10) discusses her studio work and Fiber Club*, a vibrant community of artists in the Detroit Metro area in a recent profile in The Detroit Jewish News by Suzanne Chessler.
“After moving to Detroit during the pandemic, Shulman wanted to create a community of fiber artists and organized Fiber Club, which has close to 100 members meeting monthly at MOCAD.
This year, the group has set up its first art show for free public viewing. It will be held during certain days in September at Convent Detroit and feature works by about 60 artists.”
“Mending the Net,” Fiber Club*‘s inaugural exhibition, ran for the Detroit Month of Design and featured the work of many Stamps staff, faculty and students.
