Kelly Church and Nancy Bulkley: Gifts of Art Exhibition

Gifts of Art’s current display runs from June 15 — August 23 and features work by alumni Kelly Church and Nancy Bulkley. 

Kelly Church (BFA 1998) and Cherish Parrish, a current U‑M student, are Anishnabe Master black ash basket makers. They are award-winning artists and exhibit internationally. Church and Parrish use both traditional and innovative materials to weave their baskets. They harvest and prepare their own materials to create weavings that are traditional and contemporary in style.

Nancy Bulkley studied art at the University of Michigan and currently teaches in Ann Arbor, her hometown. Bulkley hand cuts snowflakes or flowers out of paper and applies them with blue slip to her ceramic bowls and plates. Her pieces are intended to serve food and help connect the maker to the user.

The exhibit is located at 1500 E. Medical Center Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 and is open daily from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Both displays are located in the Taubman Health Center North Lobby, Floor 1.
