Lecturer Patricia Beals connecting with kids about the field of science illustration with Smore maga

Lecturer, Patricia Ferrer Beals, has been invited by Smore magazine to conduct a webinar workshop for kids on scientific illustration. In the virtual workshop participants will learn how to use their observation skills to create a detailed drawing of a leaf. Kids 6 – 12 will learn to analyze the basic shape of a leaf and add details such as veins and color variation using basic drawing tools such as crayons, markers, and colored pencils. Smore is a science magazine for kids that shares stories of real people working in the sciences to get kids interested and excited about STEM subjects and professions. The workshop takes place virtually on December 5, 2020, and all webinar guests will be featured in the Spring 2021 issue of Smore.
