Max Warburg Courage Curriculum
The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum, created by Stephanie Warburg (B.S.Des. 1963) and her husband Jonathan in honor of their son Max, was recently chosen as one of three non-profit finalists out of 500 applicants for the 2015 Give A Brand contest. The winner receives a website revamp, a redesigned logo and matching collateral, and other materials to help them achieve their mission. From now until July 2nd you can vote for The Max at Give A Brand. Voting is allowed once per day.
Max Warburg was only 11 years old when he was diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia in the summer of 1990. Max never lost his courage and determination to fight this terrible disease. Tragically, Max passed away on March 5, 1991. Max’s courage and determination inspired all who knew him, and his story continues to inspire other children through this program.
The Courage Curriculum is a yearlong language arts curriculum, which includes books that stress the theme of courage in the lives of young people. The mission of the Max Warburg Courage Curriculum, Inc. is to strengthen the character development and literacy skills of students. Since the program began in 1991, it has grown and is now taught in 99% of Boston Public middle schools. You can learn more at maxcourage.org
