Melanie Manos Exhibits New Performance and Installation in Memphis
Melanie Manos presented a new site-specific performance work, Women’s Department, at Crosstown Concourse in Memphis, TN. The 8‑person performance utilized the structural columns of a former Sears Department Store in a spoken-word and movement piece on women’s labor and labor hierarchy.
Manos created the work while Artist-in-Residence at Crosstown Arts, July 2019. She also participated in the exhibition Negative Space with a new site-specific installation of color pigment print integrated with a two-story architectural column.
