Motawi Tileworks: New Collaboration with Stickley Furniture
Motawi Tileworks, owned and operated by Stamps alumna Nawal Motawi (BFA ‘88), recently announced a new collaboration with Stickley Furniture.
Today we are happy to announce an exciting collaboration between two highly esteemed Arts & Crafts manufacturers: Motawi Tileworks and Stickley. For the first time in their Collector Edition series, Stickley is featuring an original ceramic art tile designed by our Founder and Artistic Director, Nawal Motawi.
The result is Stickley’s 2019 Collector Edition Console Table which showcases Motawi’s handcrafted Riverscape tile. The Console Table is a stunning piece of craftsmanship that combines the beauty of American hardwoods with the tranquility of a winding river and dramatic mountains. It is a piece that is sure to add elegance and charm to any room.
The Riverscape tile was originally conceptualized by Nawal Motawi in the early 1990s. After years of observing wonderful scenes of mountains and rivers in her travels, she was inspired to design a tile that reflected her experiences. Her use of varying line weights and color intensity gives the tile a depth and serenity that eclipses the simple design she set out to create.
The 2019 Collector Edition will be unveiled on October 12th, 2018 at the High Point Furniture Market. Initial orders placed within the first 30 days after the reveal become the first “cutting” – a coveted allotment of pieces that bear the iconic Stickley shop mark on a special metal plaque that includes the limited production number.
Own a piece of American-made history that is sure to inspire and delight for generations to come.
