Nick Tobier: ‘Looping Detroit’ Featured on Hyperallergic
Compiled and edited by Stamps Professor Nick Tobier, Looping Detroit: A People Mover Travelogue, is a compilation of essays, poems, and photography by Michigan-based creative practitioners. In a recent article about the book for Hyperallergic, writer Sarah Rose Sharp and Nick Tobier discussed the similarities between Detroit’s new M‑1 Rail, a light rail project initiated by Quicken Loans CEO Dan Gilbert, and the People Mover.
“The downtown to midtown corridor is already fairly well served and well resourced,” said Tobier, “and although I appreciate investment in any public transit, I see that the investment comes continually in the same areas, while the vast footprint of the city is continually underserved.”
