PLAY Nominated for 2010 Emmy Awards
PLAY, the online venue for stories, profiles and videos by and about the School of Art & Design community, has received two 2010 Emmy nominations from the Michigan chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
PLAY has received an Emmy nomination in the category of Arts & Entertainment for excellence in a regularly scheduled program, series or special that focuses on general entertainment, variety or visual and performing arts.
PLAY also received an Emmy nomination in the category of Graphic Arts. Three students are included in this nomination: Shannon Kohlitz, Kavita Lokchander and Carolyn Sommes. These motion graphics were created in Associate Professor Heidi Kumao’s Animation for Broadcast class.
This is the third consecutive year that PLAY has been nominated, after winning awards in Graphic Arts, Advanced Media and Promo categories at the 2009 and 2008 ceremonies. 2010 EMMY award winners will be announced on June 5 — for more information, please see http://www.natasmichigan.org/ .
