Professor Emeritus and Renowned Medical illustrator Gerald Hodge Dies
On June 7, 2012 at the age of 91, UM School of Art & Design Professor Emeritus Gerald Hodge passed away.
Professor Hodge retired in 1987 following 32 years of distinguished service at the University, holding faculty appointments in both A&D and the Medical School and serving as the first director of the University’s master’s degree program in medical illustration.
A prolific artist and exhibitor, his pen and ink and color illustrations have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards and have been featured in hundreds of articles and publications. In addition, Professor Hodge served as president of the Association of Medical Illustrators, editor of the Visual Medicine Journal, and consulting art director for the Lea & Febinger Publishing Company.

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church (517 East Washington Street, Ann Arbor) on Saturday June 16, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, in the Fellowship Hall.
