Robert Sedestrom: The Secret Show
The Secret Show, an exhibition of Robert Sedestrom‘s (BS Des 1959) new work, runs for three days only — January 15, 16 and 17, 2016 — at the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago.
The majority of Sedestrom’s creative output since the beginning of his career has been in the form of three-dimensional objects. Now working two dimensionally, he refers to his work as drawing, creating small, eccentrically playful results — although drawing is a minor part of the final effort. He uses materials such as paper, string, cloth, wire, wax paper, cardboard, bubble wrap, and any produced image that is at hand. The drawings are typically 3′ x 5′, sometimes 5′ x 5′, and then cut down to size, bypassing the need to work within a given format.
Robert Sedestrom received a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Michigan and a Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art. His work is in major collections, public and private, in Europe, Mideast, and the United States.
