Robert Ziebell: Exquisite Corpse for iPad

X CORPS Espash2

From alumni Robert Ziebell (BFA 1979):

APPlesauze LLC, an artist-run app-developer, is pleased to announce the release of an iPad app based off the well-known surrealist drawing game, EXQUISITE CORPSE. In the original game, a blank sheet of paper is folded into three or more sections, and the first player begins by drawing a part of a figure (the head, for example) on the top section of the paper. When this first section is completed, the player folds the paper to conceal the drawing, and passes it to the next player to continue the drawing in the next section, and so on. Once all players have drawn their individual sections, the paper is unfolded to reveal the completed figure or corpse” which is a surprising, and often hilarious, combination of drawings. The iPad is a perfect high-tech vehicle to update this game. The first version of this iPad game features a pass-and-play mode where the players pass the iPad much like they would pass a sheet of paper.
