Senghor Reid (BFA 1999) is set to host a solo exhibition of his work in Ferndale, MI. Distilled presents a series of paintings that contemplate the beauty and power of water. Reid hopes to inspire viewers to willingly engage with water while considering its multiplicity as tool, force, and sacred treasure. His ultimate goal is to facilitate the reintegration of this most important of natural resources into our daily lives. Distilled will be on display at M Contemporary Art in Ferndale through March 92019

Since graduating from Stamps, Reid went on to earn a Masters in Art Education from Wayne State University and attended the prestigious Marathon Program at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture. His work consists primarily of figurative paintings and films that explore the connections between culture, art, the social sciences, and conservationism, and it has been showcased nationally and internationally in numerous galleries, museums, and both private and public collections.
