The show includes a variety of media including digital animation, crochet, paintings, and books.
In What Matters…, our two schools look at new ways we can work together and build community. We want a world, country, and school where everyone is appreciated and honored for their differences, contributions and histories. What Matters…creates a representation of the diversity we want our world to be made up of. Students and Professors use visuals, found materials and stories to create a judgement free way of hearing and seeing new cultures, people, and experiences.
Since 2018, the Stamps School of Art & Design has partnered with Tennessee State University’s Art Department on an immersive, five-day professional development trip to Los Angeles, California. This joint trip was created by Professor Brian Day, formerly of TSU, and Stamps School Diversity and Inclusion Advisor, Brian Banks. During these five days, students visit CBS, NBC, ABC, and Disney along with post production houses, sound editing studios, and film processing centers across LA.
What Matters…has been an opportunity to continue the relationship and collaboration between Stamps and TSU.
