Stamps Faculty Featured: ISEA 2014, Dubai

The International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA) is celebrating their twentieth anniversary in the aptly selected city Dubai, taking place in the Middle East for the first time. With Zayed University hosting this year’s symposium, the theme “LOCATION” will take a vivid leap into the region’s culture, education systems and vastly expanding art scene. ISEA is the major annual nomadic international academic gathering of artists and scientists in the field of the electronic and emergent arts. It has been held in 4 continents and over 20 cities, world-wide, since 1988. Spreading across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the rest of the United Arab Emirates ISEA consists of an academic conference, accompanied by many art events like exhibitions, concerts, performances and public events.
Over 200 scholars. Artists and institutions will present at ISEA 2014’s Academic Conference. There will be more than 50 sessions and related events throughout the 3‑day conference. Cultural similarities and differences along with diverse socio-political issues will be discussed and shocwcased. Over the last decade education in the Middle East developed into one of the fastest growing fields, with developing programs and satelitle campuses showing up throghout the region. Highlights of the of the symposium will include keynote presentations by international artists under the overarching theme of ISEA2014 — Location— the symposium will surley have something for everyone.
The 20th International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA2014) will be taking place from 30 October to 8 November 2014 in in locations across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, and the rest of the United Arab Emirates, hosted by Zayed University.
