Stamps School Exceeds Fundraising Goal on Giving Tuesday 2022
During a whirlwind 24 hours, the Stamps community came together and raised over $10,000 to support students at the school.
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that highlights the shared impact made possible when people join together to make a difference in the world. This year, the Stamps School rallied around the Stamps Student Emergency Fund. This fund provides a critical, year-round resource for students facing financial needs that could derail the path to earning a degree. Just this year, students have received support for emergencies that include urgent vehicle repairs and food insecurity.
“Financial emergencies are extremely disruptive to the student experience,” explained Jill Verdier, Director of External Relations, who helped to coordinate Giving Tuesday efforts at Stamps. “This incredible show of support by donors will have an immediate impact on our ability to be there for our students when they need it most. We are very appreciative of this high level of participation by our community.”
All gifts received were matched dollar for dollar by a generous alumni couple who are also the parents of a Stamps School alum. Throughout the day, dozens of donations poured in from across the country, and as far away as China.
Since the beginning of the year, the Emergency Fund has given out 10 grants to Stamps students. Gifts received on Giving Tuesday will ensure this crucial support continues to be available to students in the months ahead.
