Stamps Students Exhibit in Japan
Ceramic work by students of the 2014 International class Rethinking the Power of Art: Art for Social Change, led by Lecturer Melanie Manos (MFA ‘08), will be on exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art in Shigaraki, Japan.
Communication + Collaboration, June 29 — July 27, features work created by Stamps School of Art & Design students in hands-on collaboration with Kohara Elementary School students. Manos and Elaine Czech, BFA 2013, also participated in the collaboration. Czech is in Japan on a research scholarship at Kyoto Seika University and served as translator throughout the for the Stamps class trip. Students: Emily Alford, Melanie Buckner, Duncan Burns, Nicole Cischke, Kristie Dzurnak, Maya Ilyashov, Megan Lacroix, Ian McGreevy, Kyle Oberleiter, Margot Robert, Rachael Russell, Rachel Tran (all Stamps) and Greeny Wong (Engineering).
