University of Michigan Museum of Art
Tuesday, November 3, 5:30 pm — 7:30 pm
Multipurpose Room
Free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first serve.
In this informal lively conversation offering different perspectives, U‑M Institute for Humanities Curator Amanda Krugliak, independent filmmaker Donald Harrison, sound artist and U‑M Stamps Professor Stephanie Rowden, U‑M History of Art Professor David Doris, and Ann Arbor Film Festival Executive Director Leslie Raymond consider the current UMMA exhibition Jem Cohen: Life Drawing. The group will discuss the work’s travelogue-like structure, its unique combinations of images and sound, movement and stillness, which together give a sense of creative journeying.
Browse the exhibition from 5:30 – 6pm. Discussion in the Multipurpose Room begins at 6pm.
This program is part of the Institute for Humanities Year of Conversions, a year-long examination of change and transformation and co-presented with UMMA.
