TEDxUofM Conference Features Stamps Connections
The annual TEDxUofM conference features a student and Dean’s Council Advisory member from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design.
The theme of the 2022 conference is SHATTERPROOF, an examination of the resilience required of living during challenging times. Two of the eight speakers are affiliated with the Stamps School:
Razi Jafri is a second-year MFA student at STAMPS concentrating on social documentary filmmaking. His award-winning film “Hamtramck USA” explores life and democracy in America’s first Muslim majority city. Razi portrays global issues that take on a local significance through his social documentary filmmaking.
Dr. Gene Rontal is a Stamps Dean Advisory Council Member and supporter of the arts. He is an author and ENT specialist. He believes that everyone has creativity in them and wants to share how exploring the creative side has improved his practice as a physician. He hopes to encourage others to harness their creativity, which he believes can improve anyone’s professional and personal life.
