Economy of design: Fårstol Chair by Theo Zizka was designed with the limitations of a maximum dimension (80cm/31.5” in every dimension) and a frame fashioned from a single slab of maple wood (4cm x 20cm x 160cm or 1.5“x7.8“x63”).
The upholstery is hand sewn cotton and leather with steel buckles. Fårstol means “sheep chair” in Danish, named for the hoof-like joint of the back rest. This chair is the product of a summer in Copenhagen, studying furniture design at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad.
