Chrisstina Hamilton coordinates the Penny W. Stamps Distinguished Speakers Series and the Roman Witt Visiting Artist Programs, and represents the School and the Visitors Programs throughout the University and to the community at large. These programs bring to the School a broad spectrum of nationally- and internationally-regarded artists-designers to engage students, faculty, staff, and the larger University and Ann Arbor communities. The visitors undertake a variety of activities during their time at Stamps, including delivering public lectures, participating in panel discussions, working with students, and generating and presenting creative work.
Prior to joining Stamps in 2005, Hamilton was the Executive Director of the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the forty-five-year-old premiere showcase for experimental film. She came to the festival in 1999 as Managing Assistant Director and assumed the role of Executive Director in 2002. She initiated the festival’s foray into new media and expanded the festival program to highlight exhibitions of installation work, performance art, and film/video salons. During her tenure with the festival she also worked as Associate Producer for GLTV/Metrocom International on the Emmy-award winning public television documentary The Sprawling of America, and on stage at Ann Arbor’s Performance Network.
Hamilton is a member of the Programming Committee for the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.
