“Löcher” creates a fictional three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface. By creating a kaleidoscope-like hole, Löcher invites the viewer to enter the print, presenting a colorful, delightful safe space. As of course this space is unenterable, the print forces the viewer to reflect on their actual space, why would I rather be in there than out here? Spurred from a lack of nonfictional safe spaces for mentally ill individuals, “Löcher” is an attempt to create an idillic shift in consciousness for the viewer.
