The Upcycling Lounge Chair is made of a variety of materials collected from recycling centers and the trash bin located at backyard of the Stamps School of Art & Design. By using old copper pipes, abandoned painting boards, and unused fabrics, I aim to challenge over-consumption and the waste problems which derive from it. I believe every object can represent a piece of memory. Here, the chair as the medium connects its materials’ past with its new life through the process of up-cycling and redesign.
