RECUERDO DE NUESTRA BODA is a video projection installation utilizing two projectors positioned towards either side of a double sided mirror in the silhouette of my Mother’s profile. Projecting home videos of my separated parents’ wedding, I revisit ideas of parenthood and origin, and through storytelling, my Mother shares her experiences from memory of prominent men in her life to show the shape of her journey and emotions to reveal a growing awareness as the protagonist of a complex history.
