The Value of Process explores the theme of value in terms of my artistic work, material items, and the people in my life while focusing on two women who have added value to my life. I examine how they intersect with myself, through the embroidery of three salvaged blazers. Within this process I use discarded post-consumer textile waste that I harvested from the subjects to create my designs giving virtually useless materials newfound value. I emphasize the slow pace of traditional embroidery processes, while abstracting the traditional natural motifs to emphasize texture over imagery.
