Play is a chronological sequence of 435 drawings produced over the course of ten weeks in an effort to overcome my perfectionist tendencies. The concept of a doodle, veiled by its perceived unimportance, guided my creative mindset and granted me permission to discover the informal, playful side of my work. As the series grew, I noticed how this seemingly chaotic and aimless set of images revealed itself as riddled with repetition, systems, and patterns. This project asks the audience to become comfortable with randomness instead of searching for meaning.
