This work is based on research around various forms of cultural resistance and the use of symbolism and meaning to modify power and contest domination. The work is created at the intersections of sculpture, the body and sound. The research explores liminal spaces in post-colonial and post-industrial contexts and how these spaces are breeding grounds of hybridity, tensions and harmony. In these spaces the body interacts with sculpture and sound in ways that creates a euphemistic and nuanced lexicon of resistance and negotiation with power.
