What is a fiber? A piece of string? A wire? A line? And when a system of fibers is connected it becomes a form, a container, a boundary.
Murmuration of Knots is a manifestation of my continued obsession with this definition and the extent to which a material can be transformed based on its natural properties, specifically copper.
Through the repetition softening and knotting I create organic wire forms as I contemplate the boundaries of fiber and sculpture, surface and line, creating a system that combines visual softness with the uncompromising structure of the stitch.
