Prerequisites: ALL OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 210: Typography; PLUS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: ARTDES 333: Information Design, ARTDES 349: Visual Identity and Branding, ARTDES 358: Publication Design, ARTDES 371: Poster Design. OR PERMISSION OF INSTRUCTOR.

Description: As part of an interdisciplinary project assisting neighborhood-based small businesses in Detroit, students work with entrepreneurs to solve problems and address barriers to growth. Students learn skills for working in collaborative teams, interacting with clients, and thinking critically to define design opportunities, propose and implement solutions. Studio work spans experience, service, and visual communication design. There will also be opportunities to connect with Law and Ross students working with the same entrepreneurs.

Frequency: This course is typically offered in the winter term of every academic year, though scheduling may vary according to future term circumstances.
