“The Penny Stamps Distinguished Speaker Series was started by a woman by Penny Stamps — not just a great name, a great woman. She was an alum of the University of Michigan and wanted to give back to the university, specially to students, to create a way that they could have some kind of connection to creative people who were successful out in the world, sort of outside of the walls of academia.
