Jennifer Junkermeier-Khan

Jennifer Junkermeier-Khan is a curator, writer and art administrator based in Detroit. She most recently served as the co-founding editor of Infinite Mile, a Detroit-based journal of art and culture, where she managed all journal operations and public events including the Art & Race Conference held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.

Junkermeier-Khan was born in Minneapolis, MN and moved to New York, NY in 1999 where she lived and worked until 2011. From 2011-12, Junkermeier-Khan was the European Liaison for Crossing Art Gallery, a contemporary art gallery based in Queens, NY with supporting offices in Paris and Shanghai. From 2008-11, she was the Assistant Director of Crossing Art Gallery in New York and from 2006-08, served as the Assistant Director of Dam, Stuhltrager Gallery in Brooklyn, NY (now based in Berlin). Junkermeier-Khan has worked on numerous exhibitions of contemporary art including Once around the block (twice), a solo exhibition of work by Scott Kiernan at NURTUREart, Brooklyn, NY (2011), Call & Response, a group exhibition commissioned by the Newark Arts Council in Newark, NJ (2011), 5C5C, a two-year curatorial project working with a team of five international curators resulting in an international traveling exhibition (2010 - 2012), citydrift/Detroit, various locations, Detroit, MI (2013), Paper Route 66, BravinLee programs, New York, NY (2015) and Round in Circles, N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art, Detroit, MI (2017).

In her role at the Stamps Gallery, Junkermeier-Khan works on all aspects of outreach and public programming for the gallery ranging from the implementation of community and audience building initiatives with a focus on diversity and inclusivity to the development of artist-created events, lectures and conversations, gallery talks, and symposia.
