Stamps Gallery Proposals
Stamps Gallery develops thought-provoking and research-based exhibitions, publications and public programs that respond to the urgent questions of our time to develop a deeper understanding of diverse experiences through contemporary art and design practices. Our objective is to generate dialogues and build awareness, empathy and mutual understanding between diverse creative practitioners and serves as a platform and resource to bring people of disparate backgrounds together as a catalyst for sparking new ways of looking, making, and working.
We welcome proposals from Stamps and U-M faculty for innovative, experimental, interdisciplinary exhibitions, public programs (talks, workshops, performances, town halls), and publications that are at the intersections of art, design, science, technology, and history. All faculty members are invited to complete this form to assist Stamps Gallery determine the scope of the proposed project.
Please be assured that Stamps Gallery staff will contact you, should we have any questions or clarifications on the proposal. We ask that you provide us with as much information to help us scope the project and what resources will be necessary to accomplish and implement them successfully. If it is determined by the Exhibitions Committee that the proposal is a good fit, then we will work with you to develop the project.
Timeline
Exhibitions and publication proposals: 18-20 months in advance of your envisioned project “live” date.
Public Programs: 3-5 months in advance of your envisioned program date.
Process
Submit the Stamps Gallery Proposal Form linked below. Stamps Gallery will review these submissions with the Exhibition Committee three times per year: in the fall, winter, and spring. Submission deadlines for each cycle are listed below. All applicants will receive a response once the reviews have been conducted.
