Okyoung Noh is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher from Seoul, South Korea. Noh multi-sensorially investigates various understandings and formations of Noh’s and others’ aspirations and cults about living better.

Noh’s intersectional practice of multimedia installation, performance, workshop, publication, archival website, and conference relies on a combined methodology of critical pedagogy, satirical détournement, and qualitative research. Between solidarity and criticism, Noh investigates, documents, and twists the stories and suspected mechanisms behind the concept of living better through field research, media research, and political and pedagogical interactions with diverse agencies.

Noh’s works have been shown nationally at CICA Museum, Hangaram Museum in Seoul Arts Center, Seoul Artist’s Platform_New & Young (SAPY), Hongik Museum of Art (HOMA), Art Space Grove, and many other galleries. She has been nominated as the 2022 Young Korean Artist by CICA Museum (KR); the New Artist from Boomer Gallery (UK), and the recipient of numerous grants from the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture (SPAC), Seoul Artists’ Platform (S.A.P), Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation (GGCF), Seoul National University, and the University of Michigan. Noh is currently an Elsie Choy Lee Scholar at the University of Michigan and a team-lead teaching artist of the AsiaTA 2022 sponsored by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (KACES).
